This popular quote from Hollywood 40´s, applies now in sales more than ever before.
Back then, there were thousands of actors casting for movies; now there are thousands of companies competing for customers.
Very much so
Purchasers are no longer persuaded by cold calls, emails, or expensive TV ads on prime time. The new trend among buyers is to find a product by themselves, as a result of doing their research. This applies to corporate sales too.
According to Forbes, last year 74% of executives looked up information on the Internet before purchasing, and 53% of them preferred to find it themselves rather than receiving it from a sales rep.
Last year, 93% of purchasers used the internet and 72% Social Media to search the market before buying.
Currently, buyers resort to technology, the internet, search engines and social media to buy.
Will you miss it?
It is now crucial for companies and products to appear on search engines, Social Media or even ads and reviews from popular opinion leaders of the segment.
Even bad reviews are valuable
According to Revoo, bad reviews give credibility to companies and/or products. 68% of consumers trust reviews more, when there are both positive and negative comments, provided the bad reviews do not outnumber the good ones.
Appearing on a tweet, even as a small logo on a T- shirt, worn by a popular model or soccer player like Leo Messi, may be the best marketing campaign, and it may cost a fortune, too.
Same applies to being mentioned on a particular blog or Facebook post
